Investing in a Sustainable, Secure Energy Future.
Hokonui Line Project
Hokonui Line is a major infrastructure project designed to strengthen Southland’s electricity network and support future regional growth.
Pole foundation works are underway for the Hokonui Line project, thanks to the expert team at Spiral Drillers Civil.
Project Overview
To support Fonterra’s growing electricity needs at Edendale, a new 110kV above-ground power line is being built. This project will improve the security and capacity of the local electricity network and create economic growth in Southland.
The project involves building a 110kV overhead distribution line (approximately 10km) that will run between two new substations - one located on Cuttance Road being built by Transpower and known as Puna Awa. The other is under construction at Fonterra’s
Edendale site.
